Basic Installation of Brand New Aircon Units

You are excited to have your first aircon. But have you considered the cost of its installation? Let me give you the cost breakdown so you can prepare the right budget.

Installation Price List

When our unit was installed early this year, we thought that we paid for an all-in package. But this is not true with most aircon transactions. The appliance center will tell you that the retail price excludes the expenses when you have it installed at home.

  • Labor Cost – Php 5,000 to Php 8,000 (this is a standard service fee to the installer)
  • Circuit breaker – Php 750
  • Scaffolding (rental) – Php 3,000 (if ladder is not available)
  • Additional wiring – Php 1,500 and above
  • Bracket price – Php 800 to Php 1300 (some brands include metal brackets for free)
  • Additional copper tube – Php 300 per foot (only the first 10-feet is free of charge)

Other Expenses

When you select a unit at the appliance center, you will be given an option to pick it up or have it delivered. Aircon delivery fee within Metro Manila ranges from Php 600 to Php 1,200 depending on your location.

I opted for the free delivery since it was available from the brand that I bought. It was delivered after 3 days.

Free Installation

Some appliance centers and brands offer promotions for a free installation. You may initially look for a unit and then ask the staff whether the service is included. Abenson and Western offers free aircon installation in Metro Manila.

You can save up to Php 7,000 for such promotions and they are usually available during lean months of June to January.
